How To Load Save Files On Project 64
Project 64 - v2.x - Suggestions. Save the game in files. All the other emulators have that, and now i really find the best emulator, can't save the game to a file, please make this happend.
For those coming from Google and the like: You'll probably find the information below very helpful, but I thought I'd recommend that you download this version of Project64. It was made by a dev who left some time ago and patched it up a bit. There's no malware at all, I doublechecked to be sure. So I just recently got a new PC and had to reinstall a bunch of things. One was Project64, which was out of date, so I got the newest version I could get (2.0). Soon as I open the installer, MSE pops up with a warning regarding adware being bundled with the installer. I took a couple screens of it here.
Now this is apparently actual adware, instead of a false positive from an emulator. There's no checkbox or anything so I assumed it would install without consent, but I can't find evidence of it actually being anywhere outside of the appdata temp folder. I can't find a checkbox (those two screens of the installer are the only ones I've seen) and this post claims that there is one, but again, I can't find one. It may be that MSE prevented its installation for me, though I'm not sure. It still makes me somewhat nervous that the adware is still present in the installer though, so I thought I'd put it out there for everyone to review.
Another note about that forum post, that seems to be a common reaction on forums when this is brought up. Condescending to the complainant and telling them to ignore it because it supports the developer. I can't say I sympathize with a developer who resorts to shady tactics, no matter how useful or free their program is.
I'm not trying to start a witch hunt or anything, but this seems particularly shady and PJ64 was always a great emulator. Hate to see it go that route. Can anyone corroborate what I've found?
