I've been able to solve most of them thanks to searching around online, but none of. Registry Tweak to fix Audio Service not responding problem. If the above methods did not fix windows 10 Audio services not responding problem then you can try bellow registry tweak to fix this issue. Press Windows + R, type regedit and ok to open windows registry editor. Backup registry database, then navigate the following path.

Enable windows audio service window…

1. What is the make and model of the computer?

2. Did the sound stop working after you upgraded to Windows 10?


Let us restart the Windows Audio and Windows Audio Endpoint Builder service and check if it helps.

1.Press Windows key + R on the keyboard, and type Services.msc and press Enter.

2. Double click on the “Windows Audio” and click on stop.

Responding

3. Once the service is stopped, you may click on start.

4. You may perform the same steps for Windows Audio Endpoint Builder.

'I wonder if it is possible to downgrade to windows 7.', please be informed that if you cannot downgrade to windows 7, if you have upgraded the PC from Windows 8.1 you can only downgrade to windows 8.1 (provided if its been less than 31 days since you upgraded to Windows 10.)
