  1. Scholarships For Graduate Students

Graduate school is a time for students to build nuanced skill sets that increase their knowledge and earning potential, but before any of that can happen, prospective grad students have to figure out how to pay for their educations. More graduate students today are borrowing money than ever before and are also paying off their loans at a slower rate. This guide can help prospective grad students find and acquire scholarship and grant money — the 'free money' for education that you do not have to pay back — and reduce the amount of money you need to borrow. It includes an extensive list of graduate school scholarships for LGBTQ students, MBA students, students with disabilities, veterans and women, as well as information on other ways to garner additional financial aid for grad school.

Graduate Scholarships. While less common than undergraduate scholarships, scholarships for graduate students are available. Graduate students rely heavily on fellowships or assistantships - especially in high-need areas like nursing or teaching - but these aren’t available to everyone and don’t always cover a graduate student’s living expenses. Scholarships for PhD Students. Already have your master’s degree? Working towards your PhD? Your dedication to school is impressive, but don’t think that your scholarship search is over! There are plenty of scholarships for PhD students to help pay for graduate.

Compiled by Kelsey Fox

Are you struggling to pay for graduate school, and do you find yourself looking for scholarships for master's programs? We've created this article with you in mind.

Despite the challenges and stress of assessment tests, applications, homework, and research, the hardest part about deciding to pursue a master's degree is often the question of how to pay for it. While most graduate schools accept financial aid in the form of federal student loans, you may have already accrued a hefty debt while paying for your undergraduate years. Master's degree scholarships, grants, and fellowships require a little extra effort to achieve, but they can prove to be a career-changing benefit to any master's student struggling to juggle coursework and research (not to mention maintaining a balanced diet of something other than ramen noodles).
