Homeworld 2 Resolution Fix

| I had just installed Homeworld 2 after waiting years to get a decent cd key and, as I usually do, I went into the options menu and started changing the resolutions to fit without knowing what mine was. BIG MISTAKE. I set the resolution to 1600 x 1200 by accident to find that my monitor's highest resolution was only 1440 x 900. I have tried all of my resolutions, and have tried opening the game's properties menu and running it in 640 x 480 but none of it has worked. I've reinstalled the game a dozen times without anything happening at all. however, when I start the game it says it has 'detected obsolete video drivers, please update the driver for your NVIDIA Corporation GeForce 8500 GT/PCI/SSE2.' and it also says that 'Homeworld 2 suspects you have an AGP card running in PCI mode. If this is the case Homeworld 2 will perform better by switching to AGP mode.' what is AGP and PCI and how do I switch them and how do I change the game's resolution back if the button to change the settings is off the screen and my mouse cursor will only go to the screen edge? I have tried pressing tab but nothing gets selected so I think i'm screwed. and I don't want to have to buy it again because my pc might keep the resolution info. HELP ME PLEASE!!! |

For Homeworld 2 on the PC, a GameFAQs message board topic titled 'Resolution Problem'. Homeworld 2 Classic resolution issue. You actually have to first change the dpi scalling to off in the Homeworld 2 classic exe. Not the Homeworld rm.exe. You do this by going into C: Program Files (x86) Steam steamapps common Homeworld Homeworld2Classic Bin Release then selecting the exe icon, properties disable dpi scaling and you should.
